Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 reportedly in development 3 years after Season 1 ending

After years of speculation, Obi-Wan Kenobi may be set to return once again.

Despite the first season originally being planned as a one-and-done story for the iconic Star Wars Jedi, Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi may just be set for another instalment.

After three years of speculation and interest in a second Kenobi season, a new rumour shared by insider Daniel Richtman (aka DanielRPK) provides fans a potentially major update.

According to the popular Hollywood tipster, Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is now in development at Disney and Lucasfilm.

It’s also expected that McGregor will be returning to reprise the role.

Judging by the fact that the series is (reportedly) in development for a second round, that doesn’t guarantee that it will enter production.

Depending on the development process, it may not even see the light of day.

However, McGregor has previously expressed interest in returning for a second season, so it’s safe to say there’s a higher chance of it becoming a reality eventually.

Sadly, no details on production overall were shared in the insider’s report, which is fair considering (if true) the project is currently in an early development process.

One theory could be that Disney and Lucasfilm hope to have everything mapped out ahead of this year’s Destination D23 event, which will take place fromΒ August 29 to August 31, 2025.

D23, for anyone unaware, is a major Disney in-person event where the studio shares TV and movie updates, major announcements, and unexpected reveals.

If an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is indeed happening, D23 2025 could be the first place fans hear any official news from Disney and Lucasfilm directly.

Until confirmation, this is just a credible insider report.

Stay tuned.
