The Miyagi-verse is potentially set to expand even further, following the release of Karate Kid: Legends, which saw the return of Jackie Chan.
Despite Legends only pulling in $100 million at the box office, and Cobra Kai being done and dusted, Ralph Macchio has revealed a new spinoff is in the works.

While making an appearance at the Newport Beach TV Fest panel, Macchio confirmed that a Cobra Kai spinoff project is now being put through the writers’ think tank.
“I know the guys are working on some conceptual ideas,” Macchio said.
“The Miyagi-verse is infinite,” he added.
“Cobra Kai never dies… we’re working on it.”
As to what ideas are being conceptualised by the Cobra Kai team, who knows?
Fans will likely have to wait a while longer before hearing any news, if anything comes of it.
What could the Cobra Kai spinoff be about?
Timeline-wise, considering that Legends takes place several years after the conclusion of the final Cobra Kai season, it’s fair to assume almost anything is on the table.
Assuming Macchio plans to return as Daniel LaRusso, it’s likely the time setting will be around the same as Legends.
As for who could be set to star in the potential spinoff, Li Fong (played by Legends star Ben Wang) could be a safe bet.
There may be hope for Fong yet, as a spinoff series could allow for better character development, providing fans a higher incentive to care about him.
That being said, the franchise could end up being milked dry, pushing fans away.
