Avengers Endgame directors reveal first look at new movie with Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt

The first images from Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming sci-fi movie, The Electric State, have been revealed.

Set to premiere on Netflix in 2025, The Electric State stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, among others.

Vanity Fair has shared a first look at the film, showing Brown and Pratt’s characters squaring off against a group of animatronic robots, led by the Planters mascot, Mr Peanut, who is on a quest to discover free will.

The Netflix film is based on a 2018 graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stålenhag.

It is set in a retro-futuristic world where intelligent robots, once designed to serve humanity in non-threatening ways, revolt against their creators.

Brown plays Michelle, a young woman on a quest to find her missing brother, while Pratt portrays Keats, a veteran-turned-trucker who aids her along the way.

Joe Russo previously opened up about the film’s plot, “These robots had the most benign appearance possible, and they end up feeling that they’re being mistreated and have a desire to be treated as equals with humans, which leads to a war.

And now you have this strange dichotomy playing out where these very pleasing and palatable service bots are now trying to kill you.”

The Russo brothers have plenty of experience with big, VFX-heavy blockbusters, having directed four films in the MCU, including Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

The Electric State looks to follow the same path, as the first images show that the movie will heavily rely on CGI to create its world and bring its robotic characters to life.

Apart from Brown and Pratt, the cast of The Electric State also includes Ke Huy Quan as Dr. Amherst, Stanley Tucci as Ethan Skate, and Giancarlo Esposito as Colonel Bradbury.

Additionally, Jenny Slate, Brian Cox, and Alan Tudyk lend their voices to various robots in the film.

The Electric State is slated to release on Netflix sometime in early 2025.
