The word’s officially out after months of teasing, Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has officially confirmed he will be starring in the final season of Prime Video’s The Boys.
Although he has yet to reveal which character he will be playing, whether pulled from the comics or an original creation, he has shared one of his hopes.
While attending a recent convention with his Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, Padalecki expressed his desire to “share a screen” with him again.
But know this, he will indeed be playing a role in the show’s final outing.
While sitting on stage answering questions from fans in the audience, one asked Padalecki if he would be starring in the final season of The Boys.
The fan also asked if he would want to share the screen with Ackles’ Soldier Boy.
“The answer to the first part is: yes,” Padalecki told the crowd, who erupted into cheer, referring to whether he would be starring in the final season.
“The answer to the second part is also yes,” he added, referring to whether he would be aiming to share the screen with Ackles.
He continued: “He is awesome as Soldier Boy, and I hope that when I get to play in The Boys’ sandbox, my character will be able to see his character.”
“It would be fun to share a screen again.”
Ackles went on to state how he fully believes the show’s creator Eric Kripke, who also created Supernatural, wouldn’t miss the “opportunity” on getting them two together on screen.
“If I know Eric Kripke…. and I know Eric Kripke, I don’t think he would miss that opportunity.”
“So we’ll see what he’s cooking up,” he added.
“Yeah, I would stay tuned.”
As mentioned, it’s currently unclear as to who Padalecki will be playing.
However, it’s safe to say fans will be finding out sometime in the near future, so in the words of Jensen Ackles: stay tuned.
