Percy Hynes White gets special mention in Wednesday Season 2

ByAlex Duthie

Percy Hynes White may not be back in person as Xavier Thorpe alongside Jenna Ortega in Netflix’s second season of Wednesday, but he still gets a special mention.

The actor was removed from the series after facing sexual misconduct accusations in early 2023, which he denied and labelled as false rumours.

Netflix never specifically provided a reason for axing him from the show.

Xavier absence mentioned in Wednesday Season 2

Although he’s not back as Xavier, the show itself hasn’t completely forgotten him.

During a scene in the now-released first part of Wednesday Season 2, Steve Buscemi’s Barry Dort reveals that Xavier is “heading to Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland.”

Dort tells Ortega’s Wednesday Addams that Xavier’s father pulled him out of the school after he was falsely accused of murder in the first season.

This follows the actual plot of the first season as Xavier becomes a prime suspect in the monstrous Hyde mystery at one point, later revealed to be Hunter Doohan’s Tyler.

After Dort explains this to Wednesday, he reads a message left behind by Xavier.

“Consider this my goodbye gift,” the letter begins.

“The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don’t ask me how I know what it means, but it’s connected to you. I’m sure,” the letter continues, referencing an illustration of an eerie bird.

“Who’s Wednesday Addams without a mystery to solve, right?”

Will Percy Hynes White be in Wednesday Season 3?

Wednesday is officially getting a third season, as announced by Netflix.

However, the streamer has yet to spill any details on who will be returning, and/or what the third season will be about.

In the land of film and television, anything is possible.

As of now, Xavier won’t be back anytime soon… but never say never?
