Reacher star Alan Ritchson ‘knocked unconscious’ while filming intense S3 finale

Alan Ritchson has revealed he was knocked out unconscious while filming the brutal Reacher Season 3 finale.

The final episode, “Unfinished Business“, recently dropped on Prime Video and features a violent showdown between Ritchson’s Jack Reacher and two major villains: Paulie (Oliver Richters) and Quinn (Brian Tee).

But things got a little too real behind the scenes.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ritchson explained that he was committed to doing his own stunts during the brutal fight scene.

He pitched the idea of keeping the camera locked on his face as his character was thrown through a table.

Ritchson said, “The whole point is you just watch Reacher get ragdolled for five minutes straight. And I was like, ‘This is fun.’ I wanted the audience to know I was doing it for real.”

Despite concerns from his team about safety, Ritchson insisted on performing the stunt himself.

“I was like, ‘I’m doing it. We’re doing it,’ and I won,” he recalled.

However, the impact of the stunt left him unconscious and the effects were serious.

He revealed, “I woke up a day and a half later. When I came to, I had to tell my kids I felt great, because they were on set. I didn’t want them to think dad wasn’t okay. It was the worst few minutes of my life.”

Ritchson has since recovered and remains committed to the role. Amazon confirmed a fourth season of Reacher was in the works as early as October last year, ahead of Season 3’s debut.

The action series, based on Lee Child’s best-selling novels, first launched in 2022 and quickly became a breakout success.

It was Prime Video’s most streamed show during its launch week and has remained a strong performer for the platform.

Reacher is based on the popular Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child.

The series follows the former military police officer as he takes on criminals using brains, brawn, and a whole lot of brute force.
