Shrek fans now think the animated movie ‘was not for kids’ after suggestive scene goes viral

PublishedLast updated

With the announcement that Shrek 5 will come out next year, 16 years after the last instalment, many older fans have been rewatching the films.

The Shrek saga is known for its outward humour and difference from typical kids’ films, but some of their jokes aren’t necessarily for kids.

Shrek, played by Mike Myers, is accompanied by Donkey (Eddie Murphey) as they travel to save Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) in the first film.

This then leads to the later films as the trio grow their group and their families.

Shrek 2 is many of fans’ favourites, which interestingly has the most innuendos.

One of the best scenes that fans rewatched was Pinocchio and Gingerbread Man attempting to rescue Shrek, Donkey and the newly introduced Puss in Boots, played by Antonio Banderas.

Their attempts to save their friends reside in trying to make Pinocchio lie so his nose grows.

Donkey tells him to say he is wearing ladies’ underwear, which Pinocchio doesn’t want to answer.

Yet he is exposed by Gingerbread Man to be wearing a pink thong, which he constantly denies and makes his nose grow.

When reminiscing about the scene and the films that came out in the ear 2000s, fans shared about how much they enjoyed them.

Movies aren’t this good anymore.”

“So much nostalgia.”

“I just watched shrek 2 the other night. Arguably one of the best movies of my childhood.”

“This movie was not for kids.”
