Editor update: Charlie Cox’s co-star Vincent D’Onofrio has since suggested that Cox’s usage of “final” was a miscommunication, and that a Season 3 will likely happen if all goes well. (See below)

Charlie Cox may have accidentally confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again could wrap up just after its second season.

Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again arrived on Disney+ in March 2025, picking up the story from the original Netflix series.

In the much-awaited series, Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock, with Vincent D’Onofrio once again playing Wilson Fisk, and Jon Bernthal returned as Frank Castle.

A second season is already in development and set to hit Disney+ in March 2026 as part of the MCU’s Phase 6.

Speaking at GalaxyCon, Cox referred to Season 2 as the show’s “final season” during a panel discussion.

He didn’t backtrack or correct himself, instead diving into details about the new black suit worn in the upcoming episodes.

“So the one [black costume] that we just finished with in Season 2 of Born Again, I think is my favourite for a couple of reasons. One, because it is badass,” he told the audience.

“But also because every suit that we’ve had so far in some way is represented in the comics. We’ve had a couple of red ones; two or three red ones.”

He went on, “We’ve had the She-Hulk yellow and red. But there’s a particular — there’s something I can’t [say] without giving away too much — but there’s something that we do in this final season that doesn’t exist in the comics. It is unique to our show. And so I’m pretty excited about that.”

Fans quickly picked up on the ‘final season’ phrasing, leading many to believe that Born Again might conclude after season two.

However, it’s possible Cox simply meant “latest” rather than “final.”

Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin in the series, has also claimed that there’s a “good chance” the series will get a third season.

When a fan tagged him asking for confirmation, he replied on X, “Good chance there will be a third.”

As of now, Marvel has made no official announcement about whether the series will end or continue beyond 2026.

One thing fans do know is that Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will return in his own upcoming television special.

That project doesn’t yet have a release date, but it could keep parts of the Daredevil corner of the MCU alive, even if Born Again itself takes a bow.
