Pirates of the Caribbean 6 script update reveals potential return for Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow

PublishedLast updated

Sounds like all Johnny Depp has to do now is say yes.

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 may seem like a long-forgotten dream at this point.

However, the latest update has whispers of a potential return of its most popular star.

As per Variety, a script with Depp in mind is being developed as we speak.

Producer of the iconic Disney movie franchise, Jerry Bruckheimer, is said to be developing at least “two” versions of the upcoming sequel’s script.

One script will develop a story that sees Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow return.

Another script will be a plan b of sorts, just in case they have to go on without him.

Regardless of how many scripts are being developed, as per Variety, Disney has yet to even reach out to the Pirates of the Caribbean star as of writing.

However, “nothing has been ruled out” when it comes to the sixth instalment.

The last sequel’s stinger seemingly teased the return of Davy Jones, famously played by Bill Nighy in the movie franchise’s Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End instalments.

Despite being killed off, it appeared he was set to make some sort of return.

However, without Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow, Nighy’s return as Davy Jones could potentially fall flat for fans who are holding out hope for the star’s return.

Alas, time will tell.
