Scarlett Johansson just broke a record as the new highest-grossing lead movie star of all time, a title previously held by Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr.
Her latest film, Jurassic World: Rebirth, may not be pleasing every critic and fan at the theatres, but that didn’t stop the reboot from making big bucks in its opening box office weekend.
Now, a new report suggests she may be eyeing up an iconic villain role.
Scarlett Johansson “likely” to play Mother Gothel

According to popular insider My Time To Shine Hello, the Black Widow star is in talks to play Mother Gothel in Disney’s live-action Tangled movie.
The remake was reportedly put on hold amid the studio’s struggle to break even with the controversial Rachel Zegler-led Snow White movie.
However, word on the street has it that the box office success of the live-action Lilo & Stitch (which is expected to cross $1 billion globally) may be enough to get Tangled… untangled.
As per the insider’s recent scoop, Johansson was in talks to play the role before development on the film was paused.
It’s also said that if the movie is put back into full swing, the role will likely go to Johansson.
Live-action Tangled report and speculation

Despite reports circulating about Mother Gothel, there has yet to be an official announcement for the project from the House of Mouse.
Previous rumours have claimed that Johansson’s Black Widow co-star Florence Pugh was high on the list of names for the lead role, Rapunzel.
Sabrina Carpenter is also another name that gets tossed around, mostly by fans.
If Disney does indeed plan on fast-tracking the live-action remake, fans could potentially be set to get an official announcement at this year’s D23 Expo event.
