Frankie Muniz recently revealed which character he “hated” while filming classic episodes of his iconic TV show, Malcolm in the Middle.
However, his admission may not be overly surprising for fans as it makes sense regarding Muniz’s titular character in the show.
Muniz is set to return as Malcolm in the upcoming previously announced reboot.

While talking with Michael Rosenbaum on his Inside of You podcast, Muniz shared who he disliked working with the most, at least on a fictional level.
Similar to his character, Muniz admitted that he disliked his fictional brother Reese the most, going as far as to say he completely “hated” him.
Reese was famously played by Justin Berfield in the show, who is also considered as one of the more comedic and fan-favourite characters in the bunch.
Although Muniz wasn’t a fan of his character growing up, he admits that his opinion has changed while looking back on the show.
Muniz explained: “The character of Reese (Justin Berfield), when we filmed the show, I HATED Reese, maybe because Malcolm had to hate Reese, but I hated him!”
He continued: “Now I watch the show, and the funniest parts of the whole show are Reese!”
“It’s a weird thought to step back and watch as a viewer, because you’re so far removed from it that I don’t remember what was going to happen in a lot of the episodes.”
Muniz’s explanation makes sense when considering he would have been in the mindset of Malcolm himself.
As fans know, Malcolm and his brother Reese were typically at each other’s throats, just as many siblings are around the world.
