A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) is known as one of the most iconic horror and crime films known, with Freddy Krueger still one of the most feared movie characters.
Nearly at its 40-year anniversary, Robert Englund shared one of his most memorable moments as the character.

Englund had portrayed Krueger in eight films and a television series, working alongside Johnny Depp and Nick Corri.
Recalling a time when the cast was “sick of the catering”, the three stars decided to leave set to find a local restaurant for lunch.
They opted for a restaurant, as Englund shared with People: “We just couldn’t do it anymore.”
“No more peanut butter and jelly, and macaroni and cheese.”
“We went into this darkened Thai restaurant and we were sitting there, we were in the back towards the kitchen and a guy came from the back kitchen area.”
“I remember it had a porthole window in the door and I had taken off the hat and the door opened and that fluorescent lighting from the kitchen spilled out and illuminated me.”

With Depp and Corri used to Englund’s make-up and costume, they all seemed to forget it wasn’t usual to the outside world.
“The poor guy dropped his whole tray of food for this other group of people that were there waiting to be served and he ran back into the kitchen.”
In recalling the story, the actor couldn’t stop laughing.
“What he must have seen — you know, Freddy Krueger, 12 or 14 feet away sitting at a booth, no hat on, that bit of fluorescent lighting just sort of slashing across him. I think that guy’s still running.”
Englund last reprised the role of Freddy Krueger in the 2003 film Freddy vs Jason.
The now 77-year-old actor has made it clear that he will not be revisiting the role.
“I won’t don the fedora or strap on the claws again. I’m just a little too old.”
