Megan Fox’s ex reveals moment he realized their relationship was over after 11 years of marriage

"I think everything was annoying her.”

Megan Fox‘s ex-husband Brian Austin Green has opened up about the moment he realized his marriage to the actress was over after 11 years.

Speaking with his former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Tori Spelling on her podcast misSPELLING(via Hello Magazine), Green recalled a conversation where Fox expressed her frustration over something as mundane as the way he chewed his food.

Green said, “I honestly think the chewing thing, she’d gotten to the point where things weren’t great, so I think everything was annoying her.”

He further clarified that cheating wasn’t involved in their breakup, despite the long-held rumours involving Fox and MGK.

He recounted, “You kinda get to that point where you’re like, God, just the way you’re shuffling your feet right now, the way you’re putting that toast in the toaster is just driving you crazy.”

“It’s all that stupid little stuff, you know.”

He went on to explain that this was when he realized they had to “make a choice” about their relationship – either work on their issues or let them “sink us.”

Fox and Green first met in 2004 on the set of the U.S. sitcom Hope & Faith and eventually got married in 2010. They had three children together, though their marriage saw its share of challenges.

In 2015, Fox initially filed for divorce, but the two reconciled the following year after announcing they were expecting their third child.

Despite this, the reunion didn’t last, and by May 2020, Green confirmed they had split again after Fox filmed Midnight in the Switchgrass.

The divorce was finalized in 2021, ending their 11-year marriage.

Green later shared on his podcast that when Fox returned from filming, she told him, “I realised when I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience and I think that might be something worth trying for me.”

Reflecting on his reaction, Green admitted, “I was shocked and I was upset about it but I can’t be upset at her because she didn’t ask to feel that way. It wasn’t a choice she made, that’s the way she honestly felt.”

Following the split-up, Fox went on to get engaged to Machine Gun Kelly, though their relationship has been on and off over the past few years.

Meanwhile, Brian got engaged to Sharna Burgess in 2023, about a year after they welcomed their son, Zane.
