“That’s my boy”: Michael B Jordan ‘proud’ of Jonathan Majors and confirms he would work with him again

Nearly two years after the release of Creed III, the film’s star and director, Michael B. Jordan, is opening up about his relationship with co-star Jonathan Majors.

Majors was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in late 2023 and subsequently fired from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a new GQ cover story, Jordan described the situation as “tough” before elaborating.

He said, “He’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”

When asked whether he would work with Majors again, Jordan responded firmly, “Yes. Yes.”

Both actors are preparing for new projects. Jordan’s fourth collaboration with director Ryan Coogler, the supernatural historical thriller Sinners, is set to hit theaters in April (US).

Meanwhile, Majors’ film Magazine Dreams, a psychological drama about a bodybuilder obsessed with fame, will receive a limited release in late March via Briarcliff Entertainment after being shelved and dropped by Searchlight Pictures.

Before his legal troubles, Majors was seen as a rising talent in Hollywood. In addition to Creed III, he was positioned as Kang the Conqueror, the next major villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, he only appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki before the studio pivoted to different storylines.

Jordan remains focused on his career but acknowledges the sacrifices that come with his work.

He told GQ, “There’s a bunch that I’m sacrificing. Everything comes with some type of cost, and then those are the ones that you start to feel more as you grow older.”

As for his personal life, Jordan sees children and a partner in his future but isn’t in a rush.

He added, “I’m so work-focused.”

“I would want somebody to fit into the flow of my life, of where I am. And that’s timing, right?”

“You can meet the right person, and be at the wrong time, and it just doesn’t work out.”

Regarding when he might slow down, Jordan remains uncertain but hopeful.

He concluded, “Only God knows, man. I really, really, really think it’s coming soon. I really do. My 40th birthday? 40? 40!”
