Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais took a brutal swipe at fellow comedian and actor James Corden in his latest Netflix special.

The 63-year-old is typically known for sparking a large variety of emotional reactions with his humour, ranging from laughter to rage.

His recent special may have even caused the most upset for those who can’t handle his comedy and controversial punchlines.

It’s no secret that Gervais and Corden have dealt their fair share of comedic jabs to one another throughout their careers in the industry.

However, Gervais’ latest Netflix special, Armageddon, relit the fire.

The joke starts with the After Life actor explaining how he came across a parents-guide-styled website listing movies and TV shows depicting dogs being hurt.

“People love their dog so much,” he begins in his joke’s setup.

“They won’t even watch a fictional thing where a dog gets hurt.”

“I get that! There’s a website, it’s a real website, it’s called ‘doesthedogdie.com,'” he adds.

“It was set up because people would watch a film or a programme with a dog in it and something would happen to the dog and they’d turn it off.”

“It would ruin it for them, it would ruin their day.”

“So this website was set up, you could go to it you could put in any film or TV show and ask, ‘Does the dog die?” he continues.

“Someone would answer you, ’No’, or whatever.”

“It’s become a thing for anyone’s phobias.”

“Anything you don’t want to see in a film, you just look up the film and they answer your question, right? I looked up one film on here – Schindler’s List.”

“First question: ‘Does a dog die? No.'”

“‘Does a cat die? No.'”

“‘Are any animals abused?'” he goes on, getting closer to his punchline.

“Someone answers, ‘There is a chicken that’s handled roughly but otherwise unharmed.'”

Gervais goes on to explain how the discussions on the website have somewhat transcended the site’s original purpose, now becoming a general movie forum.

He explains: “‘Is there any fat jokes?’ Someone asks, ‘Is there hate speech?’ Yeah… suck it up buttercup.”

“I asked on question myself on this… ‘Is James Corden in it?'” he ends the joke with, causing his audience to erupt with laughter.
