One Direction issue joint emotional statement in response to Liam Payne’s tragic passing

One Direction has released a joint statement following the news of the tragic passing of their former bandmate, Liam Payne, who passed away yesterday while in Argentina.

The 31-year-old singer and father was reported dead after “jumping” off of his third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, the capital city of the country Argentina.

Payne’s friends and family have since paid tributes to the late singer, with his mother and father telling the Daily Mail, “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.”

Now, One Direction has shared a joint tribute to their late friend and former bandmate.

One Direction, the popular UK worldwide sensation boy band that disbanded in 2016, included members Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Harry Styles.

Payne is said to have been visiting Horan, who was performing a concert in Buenos Aires.

“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” the statement begins.

“In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say.”

“But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly,” the statement continues.

“The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.”

“For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us.”

“We will miss him terribly.”

“We love you Liam.”

Signed, “Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry.”

In response to the joint statement, released just minutes ago as of writing this article, fans of both Payne and the group shared their responses to their emotional words.

“He achieved more in 31 years than any of us would achieve in a life time, what a man and what a band,” one wrote.

“I can’t believe this, stay strong boys and all the love to his family,” another wrote.

“Hope everyone affected by his loss finds comfort somehow. RIP Liam,” a third added.
